SBC 383 assembly kit, looking for advice on this deal

Seems like a pretty good deal. The parts are good and the price is reasonable. The only forged parts is the rods, crank is supposed to be good and KB pistons are great. Check around and see what these parts sell for individually.
Also some advice, if you are getting the machine work done then ask them what they can these part for, normally they can get them even cheaper if they guy is not trying to gouge you. :D

hrm..yeah thanks...now that you say that....
I see Sallee-chev and such places show about 1G/+ or - $100 for Forged 4340 complete kit with a scat9000...guess the deal isn't so great....I would prefer all parts forged for the few bills more..... :cheers:

and maybe with adding a few items....bulletproof...
this shortblock looks very tempting, if only it had a forged crank....wouldn't have to take mine to a shop then :
