New Guy on the block
Found this site by accident and after finding a source for a new affordable speedo (redline) and a q-jet rebuild (Lars), I just had to register. Glad to see such a valuable source of info :hurray: , especially for a new guy (couldn't say new kid on the block - too da*# old.

Welcome to the forum....you wont find a better source of information on your car - throw away all the books you have bought - erase all your website bookmarks - this site is it.

Re: New Guy on the block (burners)
Thanks to all.
Hey burners - it's a 1980, tried to put a photo on with my signature, but have no URL, etc. – I’m open to suggestions
Just got it in May of 2002 and put about 4000 miles on it right away. I'll try to increase that this coming year.
Previous owner had the engine done. Nothing extravagant, standard rebuild with an RV cam, about 25K ago. Hopefully, I won’t need to do much there for a while.
I'm the second owner. Car has 125K, so I went through and did a complete suspension overhaul (every bushing, wheel bearings, brakes everything on the bottom side - looked kinda like a turtle without anything attached where there should be wheels etc.)
Next project (had this done) was auto tranny rebuild. My guy put a beefy shift kit in while at it. It will do a dandy second gear yelp if I need to show an 18 year old with a Mustang what's really up!
Next change, this one may cause me some problems, was to dump the cat converter and install true duals. Went with packs at the rear - wanted to hear the cam since it's small. It worked.
That’s the short version. There will be lot’s more to do - later, I gotta drive more, first.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome to all of you!

Hey Lonny, Welcome to your new addiction - the Corvette Forum.
Your vette sounds very typical of the vettes that are represented here.
You also sound like you have acquired a good deal of knowledge in the
area or the suspension. Hopefully, you will get a chance to lend some of
that knowledge to needy members.
Regarding pictures, you might have something available from your internet
service provider. Places like AOL,MSN, etc all offer a small chunk of
webspace for each member to use as their personal website, etc. Contact
your provider to see.
In the meantime, I could put a few of your pics up for you on NHVette.com.
Send a few over to davemc@nhvette.com

Re: New Guy on the block (NHvette)
Thanks Dave! Your willingness to help had to be one of the reasons everyone was so excited about your potential leaving.
As Isaid in my e-mail to you - While the car may not be all that special, it has become so to me in a very short time.
