Default looking for a 69 350 block

I am looking a 1969 350 - 350 4 bolt main 3970010 block in New England. :banghead: Does anyone know of a parts car with a block to spare? Thanks.

Are you aware that 3970010 is the casting number on all small blocks from 1969 to at least 1980. If you are trying to match numbers you should be looking for a block with a casting date close to the build date of your car.

I'm not so sure about all small blocks from 69 to 80 being 010 blocks. My current 74 non-original sb is not, and if you scan any of the many web pages dedicated to chevy sb's, http://www.kendrick-auto.com/chevrolet_blocks.htm, for example, I believe that you will find numerous casting numbers. Maybe you mean all corvette small blocks.

As for casting dates, unless I manage to find the original block pulled from my car at 11,000 miles (for questionable reasons), exact dates don't really matter to me. Of course, if anyone does have my block, I want it back! :cry

Thanks for your offer. My hope is to find something within driving distance that I might pick up and load into the back of my family caravan.

Columbus Engine and Crankshaft might have one. They have a lot of blocks on their shelves, and last I talked to them, they quoted me $100 for a seasoned bare block.

If you can't find one local.
