I wouldn't think a spark plug change would be necessary when changing from points to an electronic distributor. The set-up you are going with is better management of spark, but nothing that should make you change from GM's original recommendations for plugs.
I went from dual points to a Mallory Unilite years ago on a '69 vette and spark plugs were not even a thought.
Maybe others will disagree.

;) ok, thanks, my mallory stuff is still in the boxes, I'll check the plugs when I do the distributor, wire and coil change and drive it. :auto: :steering:

I've run Unilites for years. Use good spirol wires and something like a MSD Blaster II coil with a "B" resistor. Hook it up to the ported vacuum line.
Oiling is important so set the dist. So plug # 1 near your 7:30 oclock from the front looking at the fire wall at initial 12 degees or what ever.

I always run platinum Plugs. You have to figure out the heat range.
I always try every new thing. Like spite fire etc....... The 4 tip Bosche plat. are the best thing I ever found. because you don't have to index the plug.
I have to admit i have never tried the new Ird. tips. Maybe you can tell me what's better!:)
