Wheel Spinners! Any opinions?
I have seen 'spinner' kits that fit the hub section of the stock aluminum wheels offered as an option from 76-82. My 1978 Vette had its stock wheel caps stolen before I bought it, and I was considering getting a wheel spinner/cone kit as seen in Eckler's Winter catalogue on page 188....Has anyone had any experience with these items? How good a product are these?
Just wanted to do a little consumer research before purchase...Thank you!

I have the straight spinner kit and had them installed on my 81 for a couple of years. They looked good and I didn't have any problems with them. You install the threaded hub to the center of the wheel and it's held in place with 3 allen set screws, then the cone goes on, a plastic ring washer, then the spinner screws to the threaded hub and is also set with an allen screw. You need to carry that allen wrench with you after that in case of a flat.
If you want to try them you can have the one I have for the shiping cost. I got new wheels and caps.

Trevelisek, What a great deal! It's awfully nice of Blue Thunder to offer the Spinners. Take them, you won't be sorry!!!
In addition order the cones. They simply pressure fit right between the rims and the spinners, zero tools needed. The best part of these is that, they make polishing the rims, a breeze. You don't have those damn bolts in the way. They look cool, and gives the rims that "extra" touch.
Sorry no pics, I'm to cheap to by a digital camera, but trust me on this.

Re: Wheel Spinners! Any opinions? (CORVETTE CRAIG)
I got spinners for Christmas, and I love them, they look really good, but it is somewhat of a hassle when you have to take them off to get the wheel off. (I keep having to remove my wheel to work on the brakes!!) :banghead:

Re: Wheel Spinners! Any opinions? (CHEESERAL)
Certainly, CHEESERAL;
If you could E-mail me @ Trevelisek@hotmail.com, I would be glad to give them a try! Just drop me a note, and we'll see if we can hack this deal out...
The destination would be Omaha, Nebraska...I'm not sure what the shipping weight would be, but if you find out, or send me the shipping weight so I could research it from here, I would be very grateful!
That is a fine and generous offer, and I salute you for it! :flag
