Fel-Pro Gaskets????
What valve cover gaskets should I use with the ZZ-4 aluminum heads and L-82 aluminum covers? Is fel-pro the best because I want the best.

Re: Fel-Pro Gaskets???? (Corvettelvr73)
Corvettelvr73,
I presume you are using an adapter (like GM P/N 24502540) used to bolt flange mount (1958-87) valve covers to 1987 and up center bolt style engines.
The adapter plate uses an o-ring gasket (P/N 12480023 is the replacement gasket) that would seal against the ZZ4 head. Your L-82 valve covers would then bolt to the adapter.
Fel-Pro often makes several different type gaskets for the same application to accommodate the various needs of their customers. You might check out their web site. I believe Fel-Pro has an information pamphlet available that discusses these differences.
You might search the archives of this site and the NCRS site for additional information.
It is a good idea to do your homework on what specific gasket part number you want - if you go into an auto parts store and ask for a valve cover gasket, they are likely to hand you the cheapest one. This may not be what you want.
The GM P/N 24502540 adapters are kind of expensive, and there are many good looking center bolt valve covers available for the ZZ4. Is using the L-82 valve cover critical (a stealth ZZ4 perhaps)?
