good price for half-shafts
I have an extra set of 63-79 half-shafts that I'm looking to clean up and sell w/ new U-joints....What is a fair price?

I think I've seen clean ones go for about $50 in Ebay.
Maybe a little higher with new joints.
Are the joints installed ? Better to have them in the box.
If I were buying some, I just wouldn't trust a ujoint that was already
mounted in the shaft. Well - maybe, but they would need to be brand spanking new.

If the u-joints failed on the outboard ends of the half-shafts, it is likely that the u-joint caps damaged the outboard ends of the halfshafts sufficiently to ruin the half-shaft ends (results in a lose u-joint).
That is what happened to mine. I bought rebuilt replacements from Van Steel for $100 each. They called me up and informed me of the damaged out-board ends. The replacements would have been $80 each if I had been able to get full salvage value of $80 for the pair). Instead they gave me $40 salvage value for the pair. Better than none at all and they would have been justified to give me $0. That's what will keep me going back to them; they are fair and honest.

U-joints haven't failed that I can see, but the bearing caps are missing on some...I figured they would sell better w/ new U-joints.

Check the flange for binding,if they're still on. I have a couple of used 1/2 shafts that are still ok but the flanges were all bent from previous "mechanics" using a vise or press with supporting the flange.

One of the one's on my car got damaged when I had my u-joints re-done...They were on the list to be looked at for that reason. I think the shop that did mine damaged it, but couldn't prove it.
