Vortec intakes for QJet
Sorry I couldn't really find what I need in a search.
What Vortec compatible intakes will both fit under my ('77) hood and accept my Q-Jet? The Edelbrock Preformer looks like it qualifies, but how good is it? But I think I read that the RPM version wouldn't (I would guess the AirGap wouldn't either, looks pretty tall) what other brands am I ignoring? I'm going to be looking for mid-300s HP with Vortec heads modified for higher lift for a fast daily driver (idle-5500max probably). I may start dragging, but I'm more concerned with it just being fun rather than numbers.
Edit: Buying a taller hood and selling my stock one is an option, but would rather not.
Thanks!,
Chris

Vortec heads and an rpm vortec manifold fit under the hood of my 1975,but I had to use a low profile filter I chose a k&n low pro.there is about 3/4 of an inch left it does not hit the hood the mister gasket cheepy filter works too.

GM part # 12496820 , dual plane vortec aluminum manifold will accept quadrajet or holley. I recently purchased one but had to return it because of shipping damage. It was about an inch and a quarter taller than stock but looks like it would fit my 74 without to much problem, especially if you stay with the quadrajet since its shorter than a holley.
