How many cans of paint for engine?
If anyone has painted their engine with engine enamel before, how many cans of paint are required for good coverage? I plan on painting it Daytona Yellow to match the car. Thx.

Are you spray painting or brushing it on?
I bought the POR-15 engine paint kit for the Vette's 350, and it only took one small can of paint (but several assorted cans of other stuff). Brush on.
When we rebuilt the 283 for our Bel Air, we used spray paint - it took about 1-1/2 spray cans. But it depends on how "efficient" you are with spray paint. Some can do it with less, some take more.

I always buy Bill Hirsch engine enamel for restorations, and it takes about 1/4 of a quart. I did a motor and tranny and used about 1/2 a quart. Joe

Hi Joe. I'm from the other side of CT. Litchfield County. I've never heard of Bill Hirsch paint. Where do you get it? BTW, Candlewood Valley Corvettes is a good club in the Danbury area. They put on a very good Corvettes only car show every August. JD
