Default anyone doing a trailing arm rebuild?

If so, does anyone have the rear bushings out? I need both pairs of outer shells and was wondering if someone has them. Mine were sos tuf they did not survive the air chisel. If you are replacing with rubber they come with the new rubber bushings but I'm going poly and will need the outer shells.

Thanks,

Marck

I think I remember seeing a brand of poly graphites with or without the outer steel sleeve. I've got my doubts that you're going to find any used ones that are useable after they're removed from a trailing arm anyway.

yeah, that's just the problem.. I may have to invest in a set of rubber ones and dismantle those. :(

Try Vette Brakes. They sell kits with or without shells.

Marck....I rebuilt mine last year and have all the old pieces still hanging around. I replaced every bush with poly and used all new sleeves so the old shells should be still here. If the ones I have are what you're after they're yours.

Are these what you're after? All I did was drill off the head of the inner sleeve, so apart from that they are as you see them......still useable I would think.

Despite how they appear in this quick pic I just took, they are quite ok.....just grubby.

Brutus, yes that would be them. I'd only need the outer shells, there's rubber and the inner shell and shaft stillm in those right (hard to see w/ all the dirt :) )

But.. you have new sleeves? Did they come with the poly kit or did you buy them somewhere?

Marck

Hi Marck. I am replacing my trailing arms as we speak. I bought new trailiong arms which came with rubber bushings already installed. I am cutting them out and replacing them with poly bushings and sleeves which just arrived today from Vette Products and Brakes. They are not that expensive. Good luck, John :steering:

If I had known the poly ones I have didn't have the outer bushing I'd gone for the VB&P ones but I though, let's give CF a try and it worked [:)]
