Default 82 Tach question?

Does anybody know why my tachometer would suddenly start reading about 1500 rpm's too high?

One of two things: either your tach filter is going bad, or the tach circuit board is on the fritz.

Do a search on "tach filter" to get all the details.

I replaced that circuit board on the back with a new one from Ecklers when mine was diong the same thing. Worked great and wasn't too expensive.

I replaced my circuit board when I had problems. Turned out to be a bad tach filter. So, my original board was good. If you want it ($25 plus shipping) let me know. New they are near $80.

Check out this link to the Corvette Faq, it has links in it that shows how to make a tachfilter and how to replace the circuit board in your tachometer.
