Can you make non polished manifolds shiny?
I was wondering if you could make your non alluminum engine parts,(ie an edelbrock performer manifold) shiny like the polished retail versions.

battsup,
Eastwood Company is a supplier of many types of buffing and polishing materials and tools, you might check out their catalog.
Polishing a rough casting to brilliance is only part of the effort. Keeping that shine is your next problem. Unless coated, the aluminum will begin to oxidize, and you can start polishing again. For that reason some folks like paint.

polish it, seriously. You'd probably need a Dremel or die-grinder and some special buffer attachments to get all the tight spots, but you can polish up a regular performer 2101 to look like chrome. What do you think they start with? One tip, wear some clothes you don't want anymore!
