Boy am I going against the trend
Just paid $250 to replace my BFG Radial T/A 275/60x15 rears with stock 255's. What an improvement in ride quality, handling, and, yes, acceleration. Those large tires are just that - - - large. Too large. Glad I returned to the correct size.

Amazing what a good set of tires will do.
On my 73, I've got 235's on the front and 255's on the rear. I like it.

well, you are not alone. i am also not a fan of oversize rubber on a stock C3 with 15" wheels. even 255's look a bit funny to me.

Are they also BFG TAs ? Just a size difference ?
Huh - I would expect ride and cornering to be improved with a wider/shorter tire.

Both BFG T/A's. The wider tire has a taller sidewall, hence, more flex.
I acutally chirped my tires on concrete yesterday when just punching it at about 20mph. Not 2-3 shift and not from a standing start. First time that ever happened. Surprised me.
