TI coil for 69 BB
Has anyone direct experience with a functional replacement coil which is more cost effective than the $200 ones? What makes the TI coil so special?
Anyone have the specs on output?
Thanks

Sorry I can`t answer your questions BUT let me make a suggestion, buy the replacement "chip" for your amp box ($125) then you can use ANY coil!!

Can't help with your Q ... but have found Dave Fiedler at http://www.tispecialty.com/ very helpful on TI stuff.

427-435,
The TI coil has a primary resistance of .8 Ohm, instead of 1.5 Ohm (Standard coil). Thus, the coil will generates high out put voltage to the plugs.
I replaced the Expensive and un-reliable Amp box with a cheap HEI module! Better yet, I can put any coil in there with out damage any thing (I'm using MSD Blaster II coil).
I'm not concerned about the stock appearance, as long as the car runs good!

I recall seeing an article some time ago that talked about using an ignition box from Chrysler. Anyone else old enough to remember?

I have seen several posts from people who have converted their TI into HEI with no visible modifications, I've wondered how they did it, but I've never seen any difinite information. I know that there is a place called Daves Small Body HEIS that convert regular point type distributors to HEI, perhaps they have some information.
