Pilkenton Glass Mfgr, are they formerly LOF?
I just had a new windshield installed on my 81 and I asked for LOF glass when getting the quote. The glass installer brought a Pilkenton made windshield and said they are formerly LOF, and that is their original name. Did I get lied to?

My shop cracked my windshield while trying to take it out to do a repair.
My replacement windshield is a Pilkenton.I was told it was a quality product.

I've noticed the Pilkenton windshield installed on my 80 has a grayish border and not the black as normally seen on cars. At first it bothered me but now I find it

Ric,
I noticed that too, but I'm not to pleased with it. I prefer the darker black border instead, now the back glass border and the windshield do not match.
I did a search on the internet and found Pilkington glass, and yes they are LOF. I called them and according to the rep, all new autos will have the Pilkington logo, the LOF logo will no longer be on the glass. However, they have a classic autos department and will reproduce the LOF logo and your date code on a piece of glass so you can have the correct look for shows.
