Default RamJet 350 - Hood Clearance

Which hood will I need to use for hood clearance with the Ram Jet 350?? WIll a BB/LT1 hood work?...or will I need to go to an L88?? Looking at the '68 and trying to plan things out this time!

just a guess. but i think you would need the L88 at least :smash:

72Shark,

The GM Performance Parts catalog has a diagram that indicates the highest point on the injector unit as 2" back from the front of the block. It shows 9 3/4" (vertical) from the top of the block to this high point on the injector unit.

You might check your current hood to see how much (if any) additional clearance you need.

If you decide to do this be sure to post some info on the swap. I looked at this motor but it was more than my budget would allow.

There may be some other info in the archives or on some of the other Chevy sites.
