Brake calipers different types?
What is the difference between 'Zero Tolerance' and 'O Ring' brake calipers? And does anyone know the correct way to convert from plain DOT3 brake fluid to silicon Brake fluid? Thanks

I think the zero tolerance are better machined where the pistons ride. Also, they may be stainless??
Drain the system fully, then flush with silicone to switch over.

As far as O ring calipers are concerned, the seals around pistons are o rings instead of lip seals. Not sure what zero tolerance calipers have though.
I've heard that before, and I've also heard something like flushing the old out with mineral spirits and purple food coloring, then flush that sollution with silicone fluid until the fluid goes clear. I believe the slicone and regular will cloud up and congeal if put in simultaneously.

Never heard that (mineral spirits). That would damage rubber seals I would think. I let mine drain with the system open for 2 days and then followed the procedure I said. Never had a problem.
