1. Are "inspection lights" available (less expensive versions of the lights that surgeons use to look all the way down into people's stomachs) for looking at the inside of a frame?
2. I assume that sandblasting is the best way to clean light rust from the inside of a good frame. Is that true?
3. Are electric headlight actuators available to replace the vacuum system?

First - welcome to the forum.
Second - not sure about cheaper, but "inspection lights" are available. If your serious about it though, it would be cheaper to hire a plumber for an hour - they usually carry a boroscope
Third - Not sure how you can sand blast the INSIDE of a frame. Dipping is the only real way, but then you have the problem of coating the inside to 100% coverage.

Three big Qs - and three short As:

1) A bore-scope (fiber optic inspection tool) is not cheap. Best to try and
borrow one, if you know someone well enough. I think they go for $2-300.

2) I believe that there is no way to effectively clean the inside of the frame
rail. No way are you gonna get a sandblaster to reach much more than
several square inches of area. Unless you devise some type of custom
sandblasting wand that fits through the frame holes. Hmmmm ... call patent
attorney.

I think the best bet inside the frame is to clean it out with an air blower, and then get it as good a you can with a garden sprayer and POR-15. Without the
garden sprayer and wand - you'll need to start cutting it open. :eek:

3) A CF member has (I think) successfully transferred the electric headlight
actuators from a C4 into the C3 housings. Hopefully, someone will remember
who that was. :confused:

We will be replacing all the vacuum lines and canisters with a C5 electric unit. We will fabricate a fiberglass piece for the top to fill the hole when retracted.

This is not a kit. It's pure engineering development and fabrication.
