1970 LS5 water pump numbers
I just replaced the water pump on my '70 LS5. I don't know if the take-off was the original.
It's a very original car and I want to keep it that way, so I'd like to find out if the take-off pump is worth keeping and rebuilding.
The take-off pump numbers are: 19*72, GM5T, 3992077
The replacement pump numbers are: 19*70, GM5T, 3992077
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thanks for the reply Ed.
One clarification please? Does this mean that the pump's correct if it has one of those casting numbers, or do the other numbers on the pump have significance too?

Either of the pump castings were used and would be considered correct. If you are looking for the the manner in which NCRS would judge the casting numbers, they dont. They would be looking for proper configuration and not the casting number.
