Default ? on plastic handle on parking brake

Is this removeable or do you have to replace the whole brake lever? If it is removeable how in the world do you get it off?

I replaced the entire lever in my '79. It wasn't that difficult.

I've taken a few apart. It's a PIA. Bottom line is that nobody I was able to contact can replate the chrome areas selectively. To get it apart, you first have to remove the entire lever. Looking at the rear/bottom of the metal portion, you'll find a small tension pin. Push it out. You'll need a vise and a punch. That'll give you some wiggle room to start unscrewing/pulling the plastic release button. Once you have that off, the plastic handle will slide off.

BUT....now you have it in your hand...what are you going to do with it? I tried to find a plater but was unsuccessful. Chuck

agree with chuck, found plater but cost was very high, quality poor and would not ensure no damage, we are out of luck unless new old stock or excellent old one found....not. :cry
