New Digital Camera - A couple pics...
You guys are always asking for pics so I figured I would give you guys a couple. Please note: I know the engine bay needs some clean up. I am trying to get the interior redone first. Then off to the engine bay. :-)
BTW, I did not shrink the pictures since the forum software should do that. If it is not. Let me know and I will shrink them down.
So here they are:
Picture of my GUTTED interior:
Picture of my whole car in the garage:
The one that I am the most embarrased by. My engine bay:
And finally, one just for fun. The third love of my life:
So there it is. My car, my garage, and my dog. :) Be gentle.

Re: New Digital Camera - A couple pics... (Larry82)
Larry82,
The funny thing is I was less embarassed by the engine bay until I got the new engine. Then it looked all pretty and the rest of the stuff looks like crap. I am still going through that novice stage of being scared of the engine and drivetrain. Ironically, I will gut the whole interior but I would be scared to change an alternator.
Not for long though!!! After the interior is done, I think I am going to replace my fuel tank (collapsing bladder). If I get through that fine I think I won't be scared of anything. :)

Re: New Digital Camera - A couple pics... (FERL 73)
Ferl 73,
I am using a Canon Power Shot A40. The only thing that I changed was the memory card. It came w/ an 8mb card that I upgraded to 64mb. I think the new card was only $25. WELL worth it.
So far I am tickled pink.

Nothing wrong with that engine bay at all in my opinion. Looks good to me. I am wondering what you are using under the carpet, ie, what is the foil backed stuff you are putting down?

I've been in the same position with the interior all ripped out. Things are looking good and you'll love it when it's done. Thanks for the pics!

Nice pix still-learning. The digital cameras are great, aren't they? Snap! Post! I bought one back when the Sony's were $700.
By the way... my engine bay didn't look too bad with the engine in it. With most of the engine out(I am dismantiling it before pulling it) it looks worse & worse every day as it exposes the years.

Re: New Digital Camera - A couple pics... (lason)
Lason,
Cool pooch. The funniest thing about the digital camera is that I now have a billion pictures of my dog and my car. You would think I would find more interesting things to take pictures off.
Terry.
I am confused. I think that engine bay looked nice! It would definitely do better on a visual smog inspection then mine would. Some owner before me ripped off all the smog stuff and I tried to figure out how much it would cost to replace. You can see I didn't get too far on it!
Bgrice,
I would love to pull the engine one day. The problem is I didn't think I have room in my garage to do it... We will see. If I do then I think I would repaint and rewire my whole engine bay.
To all others,
I can see why taking pictures and posting them are addicting. Instant gratification!

Re: New Digital Camera - A couple pics... (Eddie 96)
Eddie96,
Sorry, I missed your question earlier. I am using Reflectix. It is an aluminum insulation (both sides) that I found at Home Depot. I then used a combination of aluminum tape and normal duct tape to seal everything off. It is fairly thin. We will see if it causes any problems w/ the carpet install.
The new carpet should come next week. Will post then...
