Default Anybody have a PS control valve???? More tales of woe.

OK. After $300 and one week, I have replaced the PS pump, control valve and ram. Turns out the new control valve is AFU and won't center adjust.

I am trying to get the car at least road worthy again before I deploy (see sig pic :flag ). Anyway, I can't even talk to the guys that sold me my valve till Thursday. Plus, I already sent my core back to them.

What I am looking for is a working control valve. Hopefully one of you guys that did the Steeroids conversion still has one lying around.

I am willing to pay a reasonable price plus shipping. Email me at scmgaze@earthlink.net

Thanks guys.

Have you tried rebuilding the control valve? It's a real piece of cake, a rebuild kit shouldn't cost more than about 20 bucks at your local NA (oops, non supporting)PA auto parts store.

Oops, I just read that you did replace the valve already. Hopefully wherever you got it will make good.

I replaced mine several years ago with one by BetterDezign which uses a number of stainless parts. No problems. Haven't seen their ads recently so I don't know if they are still in business.

There is a very small sweet spot on the valves. Mine was very touchy. I rebuilt mine and had to tear it apart more than once to get it close to right. Right now I am experiencing a jittering when turning to the left. I will probably just go downtown and buy a new one if I can`t figure this jittering out.

AS I RECALL, from 7 years ago or so...there is a thingy on installation about not tightening the valve too many turns onto the drag link.....try loosening it a turn or so...and recenter it...don't even bother to put stud back in pittman arm....i'ts a neutral thing....unless you find i'ts working...of course...

tightening it down too manyturns will force the valving springs to one side...
