Default [REPRINT] Our Corvette Heritage #56: NCRS - In the Beginning.....

OUR CORVETTE HERITAGE:
I know you'll agree that keeping our Corvette heritage alive is important to the hobby. As new owners come on board, I'll bet there's a lot about Corvettes that they don't know.

The OUR CORVETTE HERITAGE series of threads is an attempt to bring us all up to speed or remind us about the history and development of our favourite car.

**************************************** ********************
For the 56th in this series of threads, here's the story of how the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS) started way back in May of 1974.

There's been a lot of discussion about the N.C.R.S. recently, so a look back at its beginnings should prove interesting.

Do the names Sam Foltz, Dora Pence, Ken Hooley, Ray Frick, Joe Chess, Hugh Schlenk, Peter McManus, Tom VanLandegent, Howard Winnan, Fred Bartemeyer, Tom Essig, Tim Partridge or Walt Zoern mean anything to you? They're all mentioned in this story that appeared in the Oct/Nov 1976 issue of Corvette News.

Enjoy!
