Default Nomination for C3 Parts Catalogue of the Year...

And mine goes to Dr. Rebuild. A fact-filled and very informative expose of the Corvette to 1982. Not a sweat-shirt catalogue but a very interesting compendium for the true Corvette parts enthusiast.

Paul out of all of the Corvette C-3 Catalogs I have I don;t have a DR Rebuild one so I can't say it is or isn't the best. When I saw the topic I was going to come in and vote for Paragon as having the most informative and friendly usage. I have only recently aquired one of them and was very impressed with it. I'll have to get a Dr. Rebuild somewhere. :seeya JIM

Paragon is excellent also. It just lacks the "been there" quality of Dr. Rebuild. He seems to have imparted his experience of Corvettes into the text and diagrams in the catalogue. Even if you do not order, it is an interesting read.

I'll have to agree with you Paul. I also don't have that many catalogs but of the ones that I do have, the Dr.'s is probably the best for what I need.

I don't know, after reading Doc Rebuild's thread in the factory correct restoration section, I don't think I'll be spending my money with him. I like Ecklers just because they are pretty local and they have pretty good prices.

My son and I have started a frame off on our 72 and we have owned it for 17 years so I have most every parts catalogue out there. I'm with Paul on Dr Rebuild as far as a good read and completeness it gets my vote. Not a lot of glossy pics - actualy none - but I always find new parts that I need when I pick it up. Not sure of their politics or putting down the other vendors but I have seen a lot of their stuff re-labled and that would bother me as well.

He used to troll post here on C3 quite a lot under various names before there was a Factory Correct Restoration section. I think that's what most people don't like about him. I am not going to slam his business, as I am sure he makes some fine parts. There are a set of his hoses on my car, and they are fine. I just wish he would stop pushing buttons every time he comes on the forum. Anyway, I really like the Paragon catalog myself. I like the way they have the parts organized, which makes them easy to find, and they have a few parts that no one else seems to carry. :yesnod:

I've used the Zip catalogue for most of my restoration of my '70. :yesnod:

I have to go with Volunteer Products. Their catalogue is great (no shirts either). I have been doing a body off on my 69 and there is not a single question they have not been about to answer. I have not bought a part fro any other catalogue, yet I have seen them ALL.

I think Chicago Corvette has the best one I've seen. It's loaded with good pictures and diagrams. Very informative and quite complete. Must admit I don't do much business there because they don't do anything with e-commerce.

Interesting analogy. I guess that means that Doc Rebuild's catalogue is the creme-de-la-creme in your opinion?

Corvette Chassis and Body Parts Catalog. This is the parts catalog that
GM dealers use. It used to be in notebook form and is now on the
computers at GM dealers.
It is divided into two sections: Green pages are exploded diagrams
of most of the car's components. White pages have part no.'s.

Catalog is great for determining the original part no. Even though many
of the part no.s have changed, any GM dealer can use the original no.
to cross over to the current no.

Catalog is no longer available new but often available used at swap meets
and on e bay. Definitely worth getting a copy.

You would also be surprised at how many C3 parts are available thru your
local GM dealer. You may talk with the parts manager and tell him of your
hobby. He may be willing to set you up with a discount of up to 25%
off list. Since there is no shipping, the prices will be quite a bit less than
the vendors, any many parts are available for next day delivery.

Mine is Jeg's :yesnod: . The best place to buy performance parts (which is all I really buy anyway :D ). The always have what I'm looking for, and the customer service is great. For example, they sent me the wrong intake, so I called and told them what happened, and they sent the new one out right away, I recieved the new intake before I had sent the old one back. And the other time, I ordered a fuel pump, they didn't have it in stock, so they sent me a better one with an apology letter for "the inconvience" of giving me a better part, for the price of the one I ordered  . That's what I call keeping your customers happy :yesnod:

Ryan,
Jeg's and Summit are very fine vendors. I was thinking more of C3-specific companies ;) .
