I guess you don't need the seven piece hammer set if you have one big one

I use vise grips all the time, what's wrong with those? I like them a lot, flare wrenches suck on old fittings and vicegrips work excellent :)
I'm missing the coathangers though

I personally prefer the black duct tape, the grey is just for temporary fixes. The black duct tape is harder to find, but worth the hunt and is for more permanent repairs. Bubba also needs a universal wrench and a large pipe to really tighten those nuts. In Bubbas tool box it is a good sign to see nylon tie straps of various sizes and colors. Nylon ties are real useful when they are trimmed with wire cutters and you rub your arm or hand against them at a later date and get a severe scratch that turns bright red and refuses to heal for several days (weeks). A severely bent screw driver (large) that can be used as a crow bar or a tool to get at the crooked screws that were put in at a severe angle because bubba's drill was at a sharp angle when he drilled the holes. I do agree ... Vise grips are a great tool. They are excellent for old flare nuts that someone has rounded off. BUT when Bubba uses them for everything they can do a lot of damage. :iagree:

You have a big mistake in your post (Corvette). Looks like a partial F*rd tool box. Have a friend who sometimes drives his g/f F*rd, he carries his sledge hammer in it.
Each of our cars has it's own tool kit. Mine are small & have never even carried a hammer.

I agree. No vicegrips is a no-no :( . And just don't settle for those standard ones that round off large bolts and nuts. Bubba has a full range. You have to specialize. The upper set is for rounding off bolts in hard-to-reach places and the lower for smaller jobs: 1/4" or smaller.

I see somebody already mentioned pipewrench. Don't forget that one. How else are you going to get the engine oil drain plug out to change the oil?

Re: Bubba's tool box (J75)
My father, an ex-Chevrolet mechanic, said the Corvette Owner's tool box consisted of specialty tools and band-aids.
All the specialty tools (like shock mount removers, spindle presses, etc) were because they were one-of-a-kind parts on the Vette and not common on any other car.
The band aids were from putting your hands and arms into all the very tight places on a Vette.
