Default Infinity Kappa 6x9s in 78...

Just installed my Infinity Kappa 693.5is in the 'vette.

One phrase to sum it all up: Now I don't need a subwoofer!

These speakers ROCK! Makes me wish I had something better up front to balance it all out. Oh well... Would show you speakers, but it's nothing to write home about. Just cut up the stock grills a little to get tweeter clearance.

If you're in the bay area, I'm willing to give you a listen. ;) Next step, need a new amp.

 cruising in vettes just isn't as much fun without a great stereo to listen too (I know I'll probably get flamed for this one :D ).

the kappa line is a very very good speaker. ive worked at a business installing them and cant say enough good things. they also have kappa 4x6 plates that will fit in the dash location of many of the c3 years. these are also superb speakers but at the same time you have to feed them with an amp or a very high quality deck. if youve got cash to blow for about 600 or so you can buy 6 1/2 component kappa perfects. these blow MB quartz out of the water because they dont have so much highs in them that your ears bleed. good good speakers

Yellow how do you feel about the MoMo 6.5 component speakers? I put them in my vert. and the guy who installed them thought I was nuts, he said they should go in a Lexus not a vette. Maybe it is all the other noise but they are not as nice sounding as I expected, to sedate and refined I guess as in the vette I tend to listen to Zep, Bruce, anything loud. I did put Alpine's up front for imaging and they are great.

If ya got woofers, ya don't need "subwoofers"!

momo makes good car accessories, but not speakers imho. the momo silver cone speakers with the billet grills are not worth the cash. the only components that i would consider would be either rockford fosgate fanatic q's, fanatic x's, or infinity component systems. as far as the fosgates, both of those(x & Q) are very good speakers with good highs, strong mids and a decent amount of lows. if you have 6" mids or 6x9's (vettes do) for some low end, then the kappas are outstanding performers. the kappas are more focused on the high end of the frequency range and do not provide much mid bass/bass. they must be complemented with something as big or larger than a 6" dedicated midbass speaker. since you have 6x9's that take care of that low end of the frequency range, the kappa plates are perfect for the job.

I have to agree with you about these MoMo's, I read so much about them and the incredible reviews that they got, and when they were installed I was disappointed in them. Now I have to determine what will give me this kick in the butt sound now that are alot more efficient than these separates.

heh.. haha... you like them now.. put them in a sealed box with some poly-fill and you will have even cleaner tighter bass. you can custom make a box to fit in the stock location.
