Hinges....What the heck!
Hey everyone,
Man I'm having a problem.....who knows how to get the hinges off of the frame on the 3 door compartment behind the seats to transfer them to another that isn't broken....Any help?? Thanks

I just did this project a little while ago and if I had it to do over I would buy a complete assembly. It can be done though. You will have to grind off the existing rivets to get the hinges off of the frame. That is the easy part. Reattaching the doors to the new frame is the hard part. I tried reriveting them with smash rivets but could not get it accomplished so I used large flanged pop rivets. It came out fine but it was not an easy task. Good Luck, Craig

I have already bought the compartment frame or, if I had known the difficulty, I would have bought it with the hinges already attached....Oh well...Thank youf or the advice CF6873

They are riveted. I've seen the proper "soft tap" or "cool tap" rivets in some of the Corvette catalogs. Don't remember which. Chuck
