Last summer during the Stars and Stripes Tour I stopped to help out sray454 after his 72 big block had the MSD box go out on him between Milwaukee and Gurnee IL. After a few minutes of rewiring back to his stock ignition (with the help of another forum member whose handle I can't remember at the moment) we had him back running again.

Today I received a Christmas present from Mike (sray454). A totally unexpected surprise. :D



For anyone that hasn't seen this book, it is great and would make an excellent addition to everyone’s library.


It is great to be associated with friends the quality of fellow forum members.

Hey, that is a great present.

I was on the cruise and heard about Mike's car trouble. Met Mike and his daughter in Madison, WI that day and had a chance to talk to him later in Chicago. Great guy.
If I remember right, the other guy that stopped that day was Ed Hermann, a Sheriff's Deputy from the Milwaukee area and with the Ozaukee Corvette Club.

Both you and Ed are great examples of what the Stars & Stripes Tour was all about. Peolpe helping other people. Thanks for your kindness and thoughtfulness. I am sure Mike and others appreciate it.

I thought that the Stars & Strips tour was fun ... right up to the above mentioned MSD box failure - and thats when it really TURNED OUT GREAT. Fellow furum members Pete ( Pete79L82 ) and Ed where kind enough to stop and lend a hand - actually MUCH more than that because I had NO tools with me and NO knowledge of how to rewire the ignition without a schematic. Ed was kind enough to go a chase down some tools ( Wal-Mart ) and Pete did the rewiring.

These guys gave up finishing the tour, attending a local car show, and most of a local Corvette party to help my daughter and me out - and for that and their new friendship - I'm thankfull.

These guys are great folks !!!
