What the heck are these things?
Directly ahead of the driver, on the engine bay side of the firewall, just inboard of the forward projection where the vacuum booster mounts: there are two small relays or junctions. One has slide on connectors that point forward and the other has slide ons that point downward.
Any idea what these connect/control?

mine has one that is a circuit breaker that controls power to the inside of the car

Thoses are the relays for the Idle Stop selonoid and the other is the relay for the TSC Transmission Spark Control)system. Both systems were early emmission equipment.
My 71 has neither of those systems anymore but I still have the relays on the firewall.

The numbers on my Muncie indicates that it is original to the car. Would St Louis ahve installed a TCS relay if the car had a manual trransmission?

Yes... 4 speed cars had them too. My 70 LS5 4 spd still has the TCS stuff on it, although it's not connected to anything.
