Well, usually this time of day I'm out puttering around the garage, dancing with the black beast but, today is different. I've decided to go the lazy way and let someone else do it. Car is in the shop as of yesterday. Motor being pulled, rebuilt, and built up a bit. The shop that's doing it has a great reputation and, a 20% military discount for the holiday season! After talking for several hours over two visits there, they got a good feel for what I want and we settled on a price I, and the wife (Merry Christmas Sweetheart, Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch, Luv Ya Baby!) can live with.
I had three priorities for the rebuild. 1st was to stay within the budget, 2nd was reliability and longevity, I'd love to get another 170,00 miles put on it. 3rd was performance, nothing extreme but the L48 with some mild mods was just a bit too anemic. I was going to do it myself but time just isn't on my side right now so I wanted to get it done. Looking at things, it seems almost certain that I'll find myself somewhere in harms way again within the next few months.
Rangers lead the Way, (and a lot of us do it in vettes during peacetime!)

Well, good luck on the rebuild/build-up. There is nothing like firing it up the first time after the mods. :cheers:

Chico's Taco's!!
When we first arrived here, late at night at the end of a very long drive, a few months ago, I was hungry and wanted some quick Mexican food. I had never heard of Chicos Tacos but judging from the crowd inside, and the parking lot outside, figured they must be good. We went in and I wasn't impressed. Later, I'm relating this story at a meeting to someone. Foot in Mouth time for me, turns out the guy who owns them is in the club. I went back to chico's for a second chance and it was good. Guess I had just caught them on a bad night while I was in a bad mood. Good, Fast, Inexpensive Food. My kids eat lunch there once in a while, there is one pretty close to their school.
Hows the weather up there? I'm on my way to Phoenix in the morning.

The weather here is nice, a little cool, but mostly sunny.

You know you can order Chico's Taco's with the sauce, and the cheese on the side. Then you go home and freeze the sauce, and taco's. Then you can travel across the country with them.
When you get them here we can thaw them out in the microwave, and ummm ummm ummm... :lol: :lol: :lol:
