Driving The Beast (New Merlin Video)
I know you all have waited a long time for this. I appreciate your patience! The good news is that I am going to keep the car. I was eager to see just how horrible an investment customizing cars is & boy did I get my answer! The only reason to do something like this is because you love the car, you love performance & you want to keep the car forever. After driving it a few more times & really getting to enjoy the car, I love it. I'm keeping it. The car is pure adrenalin. After driving it Friday, I kept stomping on the pedal of the Viper on the way home screaming "Go Dammit!".
Major kudos to Aaron (WashingtonRacer) for his help with the video. There is a lot of background noise & other stuff, but I think you can get a pretty good idea for just how ***** this car is. To those that think the car is not real or not drivable- whatever, as my friend at work says "lick my sac"! Serriously, we still have some work to do. The car cools better, but the boost is just WAY too high to be practical. We are 100% overdriven right now (2:1 - 8" bottom with twin 4" tops). I'm having Whipple make me a 6" bottom which will result in a mildly overdriven scenario. That should make the car more streetable & will stay much cooler. Our present guess is that we are running about 18 psi right now - still on pump gas mind you. I think that's pretty amazing. If that is the case, the car is probably 1,300HP or more. Could be around 15psi which would a little less but still - WAY WAY too much boost for the street. At around 2:53 on the video you can just barely see where I blip the throttle in 3rd gear. The whole front end of the car started floating. Scary car but FUN!!! I'm feeling more & more confident every time I drive it. Soon, we'll go out & really stomp on it. This was a 35mph street, so I just wanted to cruise & see how the temp maintained. I am scheduled to dyno the car later this week. More vids to come!
CAUTION. VIDEO IS 75 MEGS. BROADBAND ONLY! If anyone has some server space out there and/or some editing tools - I could use some help mirroring the video & maybe reducing it. Please be patient as it downloads - the fiber is probably going to get another workout the next few days.

I am probably gonna wait until a little later when so many arent on to watch. Maybe this will help the down load speed. I have cable too and didn`t see anything after about 3 minutes of download. This was on the first link. I have been waiting on this video for some time. :smash:
2nd link download speed 1.27kps. Only 20hr download.
