On my old engine there was a tapped hole in the side of the block for the rear starter brace and heat shield. My new ZZ4 doesn't seem to have anyplace to bolt the rear brace. For the first time since installing the engine, I've noticed that my starter is starting to drag after a long cruise. I'm afraid that heat soak is starting to show its' ugly head. I could install a wrapped blanket, but I'd like to install the old heat shield and rear brace if I could. Has anyone rigged up a way of installing a brace to a regular oldstyle starter?
