Default Why mine all OK?

Most of people said about car that park for years usually these things don't work, seize brake, bad gas, bad carb and maybe can't start up. This is a ? because I am keep wondering why. The 81vett I bought was register as non operate vehical for 7years and park outside way up in the moutian, I can see the tax sticker on the license plate that this car been sitting for that long. The owner sell the car as is , but he nice enough to buy a new battery to see if the car can start up and with the 2nd time he tried it startup, he also bleeded the brake and it worked fine..again why? Thanks

Just because it started and ran, doesn't mean it was the best thing for the car. A dry start after setting up that long is really bad for the car and probably caused thousands of miles worth of wear in just a few seconds of cranking. I'm also shocked that the gas hadn't turned to varnish in that amount of time, plan on fixing and replacing lots of things in the next few months.
I have to agree you got lucky.
