NOW, if you count SMC or some sort of pressed into shape fiberglass related compount as a fiberglass.....which it IS...sort of...I hear it responds to fiberglass repair techniques.....
the Pontiac Fiero ran from 84-88 years....had SMC body panels....hung on a 'space frame'.....
the Saturn is made that way also....I think the Fiero founded a division of GM...Saturn...same group of guys on both projects....
I dunno if any foreign cars do the same thing or not....

There was a car in the 80's called the "Brecklin" don't know if the body was glass or plastic. Also all 4th gen F-bodies, Camaro/Firebirds the only metal is the rear quarters, and hood. Early 3rd gen Z-28's 82 and 83 had factory fiber glass hoods.

Corvettes after about '69 are SMC
The Saturn sedans use SMC side panels and steel roofs, hoods, and deck lids
APV vans are SMC as well

Saturn = False
Having owned four Saturns including my 2003 Vue AWD V6, I can unequivocally state that Saturn side body panels are made of polymer with no fiberglass reinforcement. The Saturn body panels are purely cosmetic...not serving any duty in adding structural rigidity.
As to other cars using FRP panels, the Kaiser Darren was one, along with the Avanti (as already mentioned). There are a couple of other very low production cars (I think the Bricklin was also 'glass) out there (how about the Lada? Russian made disposable car.) that someone will throw in here.

TVR'S (English muscle cars) are all fibreglass

Actually the Fiero hood, deck, top and quarter panels were made of SMC.
The front and rear fasia, doors and front fenders were RIM urethane. :cheers:

In the 70's the Bricklin was made in New Brunswick, Canada and the Delorean has fibreglass under its skin.

Don't forget the Chevrolet Cameo pickup truck. I believe it came out in 1955.

I see that UKvette72 has mentioned the great TVR! If ever there was an "English" Corvette, I would suggest that the TVR is it, even if their build quality is a little "suspect" at times (we all know that TVR stands for Total Vehicle Rebuild). I doubt many would think of Lotus (Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious) as an English Corvette, even although they did work on the LT5.
The Jensen CV8 was fibreglass, but a much overlooked model was the Daimler SP250 "Dart". It too uses a V8, but in this case an in-house example. Sometimes maligned for tail-happy handling, once sorted they are a wonderful car.

What about Honda (or Acura to many of you) NSX? Is it steel, glassfiber or carbonfiber? I also assume that some Ferraris are made of carbon fiber, F40 and F50 at least. What about Porsche 959, I assume it can be said to be serial manufactured... Is 959 glassfiber?
