The spacers can be bought from Vette Brakes and Parts, and run about $100 per spacer.
I am running 17x8.5's front and 17x9.5's on the rear and they came from a 1996 Corvette. The 9.5's almost rub on the inside, and do hang out about 1/2 on the outside. The 8.5's fit soooo damn nice on the front and do not rub or hang out at all.
if you get some 17 or 18" wheels that are no more than 9.5, they should fit. I don't know if you can go wider than 8.5 on the front, but you should be able to.

Do you have any close-up shots of how your sawblades fit the wheelwells?
Id be very interested in seeing this. I think before you said that you had 2.5 inch adapters all around?

The Red C3 with the C5 wheels (the 'vert) uses 8.5 and 9.5 width wheels. You can use the 11.5 rear wheels that the ZR1 and Z06's use, but that would require the off-set trailing arms. It would look very  to have 2 11.5 wide tires sitting in the back of a C3 !! The 5.0 liter Ruststains wouldn't even bother to pull up to you then :D !!

Yes, they are called Adaptors and they are less than $100 a piece and include all the lug-nuts and studs to mount the rims. Here's a couple of pics of them:

Re: Can C5 rims fit on C3s???? (VBP)
Hey VBP !!
Why did my 3.0" rear adapters (for putting on 1996 17 x 9.5 rears on my 1980) only measure out at 2.75" wide ?
I'm not complaining as 3.0 would move them too far out, but it is a bit misleading / confusing for some.

Re: Can C5 rims fit on C3s???? (BSeery)
The fronts are 1996 Corvette "Sawblades" that measure 17x8.5 for the wheel, the tires are 255/40/17's
I have lowered the front by about 1 1/2 to 2 inches -- fits real good !!
The rears are 17x9.5 wheels with 285/45/17 tires.
This is the view from directly above --- shows the amount of tire that hangs out.
This view shows how much tire is under there and also shows how the tire / wheel combo fits.

Re: Can C5 rims fit on C3s???? (BSeery)
That red C-3 with the C-5 rims is actually an 82' with a 68/69' roof. Of course it's custom material but the inner frame and rear deck is off of a 68/69', I remember from the article. They too use our adaptors and I saw the car driving around at the Bloomington show, very nice piece.
Probably because you have the 2-3/4" adaptor. We make them from 3/4" to 3" and come in 1/4" increments. :yesnod:

Then the top has been modified because the windshield is angled back, it's lower than the original.

Isnt it strange how boring sawblades look on C4s and how "Fitting" and  they look on C3s? i think its because the spokes look like little dorsil fins. :yesnod:

BSeery- Thanks for the photos. I got to admit it looks very cool up close. Nice and clean too. Did you notice any change in your ride handling?
I think the green C3 in VBP post looks like it might have 2.75 inch front spacers as it looks like the owner has the wheel pushed out a little further than BSeery's.
I also second the request to VBP - Can you show us an experiment for the Z06 rims on a C3. I have been thinking about this and seeing it done would give me a :conehead . Really though, it would help push me to do this I think.
17 x 8.5 front or 17 x 9.5 front
17 x 9.5 rear or 17 x 11 rear even!!
This place here is probably some of your best spent advertising bux. :yesnod:
