Air Cleaner heights
My engine is installation almost complete! I'm going thru the darn air cleaner fitment pains right now ... and worried. I used a performer EGR manifold and an Edlebrock Performer Q-jet. What drop-base air cleaner will work with the OEM '76 Vette Hood?? HELP!

Re: Air Cleaner heights (SanDiegoPaul)
Best I can do is this. On my 72 I'm using parts off of two. I bought a GM 14" drop base and a Mr. Gasket. I use the lower of the GM (because it's deep)and the top lid of the Mr. Gasket (because it's flat). This allows me use a 2 1/2 inch filter and still have 1 inch air entry clearance over the choke blade.

Re: Air Cleaner heights (SanDiegoPaul)
Had a Performer with stock Q-Jet and used stock air cleaner on my '76.
When I changed to Performer RPM and the Q-Jet, I had to use a drop base with an open 3" element. K&N part # 60-1430.
