Stock GM FE7 Rear Sway Bar (7/16") Complete Available
I have located another one. Still on the salvage car. If like the one I sourced, the steel/rubber link bushings will have to be replaced. They run less than $20.00 for the four. And still available from GM as #3872955. If interested, e-mail me as to source.
For context.

I'm interested. How much for the complete setup minus rubber?

The cost is $90.00US plus shipping. Just to put that cost into perspective, consider these:

The swaybar has been sold to a C3 Forum member by a source in Arizona. So please do not e-mail me. Thank you!

Re: (1970 Stingray)
My pleasure. And I am particularly pleased to know that a C3 Forum Member found what he was looking for. Those GM FE7 7/16" units seem to be in short supply for some reason I do not understand??

Re: (paul79)
You know what Paul? I don't think I can use those bushings. I need the 9/16". Do you think you could get me those #'s tomorrow??
The guy I spoke with said there were more BB bars made than the FE7's.

Re: (paul79)
Thanks Paul, I appreciate your effort. I did some quick checking at the Idaho page: the FE7 was first offered in 1974 with 1,900 ordered as an option. In the next years less than 10% were ordered with this option. This still doesn't explain why they're in short supply and BB bars more prevalent. In most production years, BB's ordered totaled 10% or less of the production.
Maybe those numbers are wrong though. Actual 1970 LT-1 production is listed at 1,287 but with all the ones that keep poping up production musta been 25,000 LT-1's!

Re: (1970 Stingray)
Len,
You learn something new almost everyday in this hobby! The bushing for both the 9/16" and 7/16" bars is GM #3872955. There are 34 available in Canada and I would imagine a greater number in the USA. Retail is $11.00CDN or about $7.00US.
The common number for both surprised me. Until I looked at the set-up (pic below). The diameter for the bar itself will vary but the hole in that looped end where the bushing is located is the same size. hence the commonality. From a production point of view it makes sense.

Thanks Paul. I see that now looking at the pics. I was mistaken. I think the middle bushings (D-shaped) should be commonly available too.
