Default Aftermarket Pulley...Worth it?

Are those nice, shiney pulleys that Ecklers has worth the $$ ($249)? They tout them as being abl;e to increase HP by 20 because they are smaller. The stock pulleys are cheaper, I was just wondering what everyone thought.

THANKS!

I have March Perf. serpentine conversion kit, don't know if there's any hp gain, but it sure is a perfect fit and looks 1000000000000 times better than stock... :yesnod:

Thanks. Was that a pretty pricey conversion to make?

I went with the Summit billets, but was going to put the short chrome water pump on anyway. The stock Vette pump is a bastard length and snout size,so you may want to stick with the stock pulleys for now. $250. for some shine doesn't seem worth it to me.

You might want to read Stewart component's take on this:
http://www.stewartcomponents.com/htm...t/techtip1.asp

They claim that their water pumps only use 2.26 HP at 4000 RPM, and I imagine a stock one is pretty close to that, so I don't see where you would pick up 20 HP.
