Default Aftermarket SS exhaust

Has anyone experimented with ways to seal aftermarket exhaust systems in addition to just clamping them? Thanks

Weld them up. I use the truck style clamps on mine. They are about 4 inches wide and seal them up pretty good. You can also remove them. Welding you are stuck.

I was getting a little leakage around some of my multi-clamped system (elbows into flowmasters = lots of clamps) and I got some black gunk in a tube tailpipe sealer stuff that helped quite a bit. (Mine is aluminized, not stainless) MJ

I MIG welded my BORLA 304 SS mufflers and pipes (with the exception of the single set of front clamps, after the flange of the 4 into 1 HOOKER headers). I eliminated the resonance, clamps and some minor leakage (black streaks). The pipes feel solid and resonance of the pipes has also dissappeared. It only takes seconds to cut the SS pipe and reweld it. I did it (had it done) to straighten out the BORLA mufflers that were slightly tilted.
