Default Tacometer Question

Can someone tell me what the standard tac on the BB cars was supposed to redline at? The tac in my car redlines at 6500 and I thought that might be too high. It looks like the original tac. Any online sources that can answer all my newbie questions? I know the Vetts were built to run but this one seems particularly fast. It has zero options except four wheel disc. (I.E. no power steering, brakes AC etc.). I didn't even know four wheel dics were available in '68.

I don't know which engine, only that it's a big block. That much is appearent. I guess I should have done a bit more research before I bought this car.

I certainly know that feeling,........Have you looked at the numbers on the engine to determine what engine you have in the car>>??
