replacing door control assembly...
The interior door handle came off in my hand a couple months ago. I never thought the exterior door handle was hard to oppereate until I tried it from inside the car.
Looks like it sheared off the "rails" where the handle slides onto the control assembly.
Are there any tricks of the trade for replacing it?
Also, since I'l have the door panel off, what other maintenence things should I do to the door and what should I take a look at to make sure nothing else will break as soon as I get it back on.

No big deal! Just be careful. While you have the panel off, lube up the window sides and all the moving parts, latch and rods. If you car dosent have a plastic vapor barrier, now is a great time to make one out of thick [trash bag]plastic type of material. The control assy that you are changing is very easy, 2 clips and 4 7/16 head bolts. The handle is held on with a chrome recessed machine screw. Have fun. Thad
