Yes, very much so. But no regrets. For the most part Corvettes are not investments. And what price does one put on fun?

There is no fool alive who would pay me what I've got in this car. But it's academic, because I'll never sell.

Every time I start a new project I ponder this dilemma. My wife and I were talking about the vette over dinner tonight when she made the comment that I spend less on the vette per year then my neighbors who play golf if you include the club dues. Made me feel better about the expense of the vette.

Bought it for about $9500 US 4 years ago this week and have put another $3500 - $4000 US into it to date.

I would guess over 90% of us are in this category. Not what this is about - at least for me.

Nope, not yet. But think about it, you put way more cash into every other vehicle than you get back. Thats what I like about vettes.

Probably double on the 72, and the 01 will be double in a few years as it goes down in value. But the joy value is worth it. :yesnod:

Oh Yeah!! :yesnod:  I sure do!! But, I don't look at the car as an investment, so it doesn't really bother me. I just want to have fun with the car. But, I do see the values rising almost every year, as opposed to the average car which depreciates (some rationalization on my part.....helps me feel better :D ).

OHSIX,
OHHH YEAH. WAY more $$ than what I could get for it... BUT, I have enjoyed working on it and seeing the results of my hard work and spent money. It's a hobby only. I am not in it for the $$. I always why people (like my brother-in law) buy cars and hope they make money on them.
I am in it for the fun and satisfaction......
