HP from Serpentine Conversion?
Anyone tried a v-belt vs serpentine dyno comparison? I've read that serps reduce wear on bearings but is there any HP to be gained by converting to serpentine?

That's a fair question. I doubt you'd gain any power though...as you'd still be turning the same number of accessories.

Seems I have read that the v-belt design has a little more friction involved than the serpetine but I doubt you would feel a diff but may see a few extra ponies on the dyno.

I have the serpentine conversion my 79 and like most of you know I haven't driven it yet, but I'm not expecting any hp gain from it. It s just so easy to maintain and looks great.
