Default Tire pressure

What tire pressure do you guys keep in your tires for normal routine street driving? I have 255/60R/15s all way round on 81. Is 33lbs about right for all four? :yesnod: :nonod: :flag Thanks. Terry

33 psi (cold) should be just fine. :) I try to set mine at 32 psi (cold.)

I brought this topic up some time ago after finally reading the sticker on my door...

I was amazed  I always used to run about 32# all the way around.

FWIW, I've been running about 22# front and 26# rear for well over a year now with no adverse effects that I can see.

Of course, I'm not sure there were any positive effects either. Handling & ride comfort seemed unaffected.

But, according to another recent thread about "contact patch" size, mine should be increased with the lower pressure.

Mine still has the door sticker too ... and I simply think that pressure is too low! I was in the tire bus. for about ten years and I have seen it all when it comes to passenger tires. Light Truck too, for that matter but that doesn't mean anything here. In 1976 tires were a whole lot different than they are right now. :yesnod: :yesnod:

I'd like one of them engineer types to chime in here and correct me if I'm wrong but a TP in mid to low 20's with a modern day radial just does not sound right to me.

These cars have damn near 50/50 weight distribution and I run my 225/70's at 33 PSI front and rear.

I find with my 245-60-15 find that 30# is a good compromise between ride and performance. It also gives good ware characteristics.
