Arm rest repair pieces?
Has anyone used the arm rest repair pieces that glue on over the original arm rests on the doors? Mine are a little cracked, but with 17K in this project so far I was thinking about using these instead of buying new door panels. Please give me your thoughts on these?

I am moving this to the top one time only. Surely someone has used these repair pieces, please give me your honest opinion of the finished result?

I have used them on my '75. I am still in the process of fixing my interior and thought they would work temporarily until I can afford new door panels. They fit nice (self sticking) and I thought the color (medium saddle) wasn't too bad of a match. Not original look, which is what I am going for, but will work until the new door panels can be purchased.

IMO, if you have 17K into your project already, I don't think you will be happy with them until you buy new replacement door panels.

Guys, thanks for your replys. After hearing Rich had good luck and another member e-mailed, said he's had them on for 4 years now with no problems, sounds like it's a reasonable way to go. I appreciate your feedback "69" and I agree, probably won't be as happy as I would with new panels, but I don't think this car will ever be "top flite" quality, just trying to get it together. I have never driven this car, bought it in a heap and boxes full of no good parts, but it has been fun and a great learning experience. Again, thank you all for taking the time to share your experiences.
