How the corvette forum helped me
Well the other day all when I started the car my engine developed a extra loud lifter noise. So instantly I thought the worse. Then I got on line went to the forum and did a search on lifter noise read a couple of post. A lot of comments that a header gasket sounds like a lifter. So I went out side opened the hood check the header bolts and sure enough they were loose. I grab a allen wrench and tighten them down and noise was gone. All done in less than 5 minutes time. Thank to all

Isn't it great! such a larger database of info. Being able to pick the brain of the cf members.
When I installed the 5 speed, I needed a diagram to make the clutch ball bracket.....Thanks to MassVette, he sent me a digital.....voila....I was in business.

It sure is a great place. You guys help me decide to spend more money on this car all the time. I see someone else doing something, I think, hmm that looks good. I just gotta make mine as nice as what I think everyone elses is. We all want nice corvettes. It just takes me alot longer than most.

Yep, this is the place to be. I remember a couple years ago, I just bought my Vette and was trying to replace the Muncie cover gasket. It was a lslow, lazy, hot July Saturday afternoon. When I started out I assumed the shifter should be in neutral----a safe assumption, I thought. Well when I remove the cover the clutch forks dropped out too! :cry :cry Well I tried & tried but theres was simpy no way those forks would go back. My wife is now uttering her famous words, "So now what are you going to do Mr. Goodwrench"! ---she's so supportive.
I got on the forum and posted the question. I figured it'd be 4-6 hours before I got a reply since there wasn't a lot of activity on the forum. Well within 10 minutes, Bob(that's his forum name) answered my querry and I was back in business. It turns out the shifter should have been in 2nd before I removed the cover. I finally got everything back together in the next hour or so and Bob was still on-line answering my questions.
This forum has saved my **** on many occassions and keeps me from looking like too big of an idiot to my wife!
