TPI conversion... cam recommendations needed and desktop dyno info
Well I am going to go with affordable EFI. They are putting a together a package that is going to save me a little money and a whole lot of hastle.
Now I am moving on to the cam selection.
Affordable FI recommended the Comp Cams 260H, my local CF guru recommends the x4254H and then I received another email from AFI recommending the XE256-12 given the fact that eventually I will be upgrading my heads.
Here are the specs on the XE256-12
YDRAULIC-Best in 305 or 350 Tuned Port
Injected engines with no modifications.
Hyd. Hyd. 1200 to 5200 12-256-4 XE256H-12 256 268 212 218 .449 .456 112°
Here are the X4254H
HYDRAULIC-Strong low end and
mid-range torque, good idle. Hyd. Hyd. 1000 to 5200 12-235-2 X4254H 254 262 210 218 .447 .462 111°
Can anyone run this on DD2000 with the stock heads, stock compression, TH400, 3.08 rear?
Thanks

Get ahold of Comp Cam, they will tell you which one to use, but AFI is right depends on what heads you will be buying as well.

Keep duration under 220 at .50 if possible. Heavy duration will reduce vacuum and trick the computer. It will not idle and run very rich trying to correct.
Go with the ZZ 9 or the Compu Cam in the Jegs.

Here is a list of cams I have started:

If you don't mind spending the $, go for a roller cam, more lift for less duration.
Any of the highlighted cams would be a good choice.
