All thing being equal, you would see a weight savings (a good thing!) on the front end of the car, more so with lots of aluminum. That said, you would be giving up considerable torque and some HP, plus a ton of value. If the numbers are right, don't mess with it, but if it's already molested do what you want. Heck, it's your car, dude!

I agree with Wrencher, If your BB is gone, think 383 with alum heads, alum water pump, alum radiator, elect fans, headers and remove the rear stabar.
BB performance without the weight and mileage penalty.

Well my BB car had a SB in it when I got it. I think somone during the early 80s got tired of paying for gas ( :rolleyes: ) and pulled it.
Anyway it drives a bit funny. The front end is a little too high as the spring were meant for a bit more weight. It's not terible but it feels a little "floaty"
Good thing I got the BB block build up going on to weight down that front end again :D
