Default Holley set-up

I just had my holley 4801 rebuilt and I'm looking for a good baseline set-up for tuning. I was told to turn the air mixture screws in all the way then back out 3 and 1/2 turns. Any advice?

You bottom the mixture screws then turn them out 1 1/2 turns or 3 half turns. Certainly not 3 1/2 turns.

You say 1 1/2, the book says 1 1/2, but right now my car wont run on anything less than 2 1/4 and that puts the fuel mixture guage right where it belongs.
Just where did this magic 1 1/2 turns come from?
Not trying to be mean, just curious how this came about?
