Default Temperature Gauge Going Crazy

I have a 68 coupe 327/300. My temperature gauge is not working after I used a pressure hose to clean the engine. When I start the motor and get it up to temperature the gauge reads nothing, but ever now and then the needle will spin around. Any suggestions? Where is the sending unit for the temp. gauge on a 68 327? Thanks in advance.

My wire fell off on my sensor and the guage was occasionally grounding out causing the guage to get the jitters. Not sure where it is on your car, but I have a brown wire with a boot on the drivers side almost in the center of the exhaust manifold (If memory serves)..
